Staffelkapitän Montag 9./ZG 26

Hello everybody, I got this photo some time ago:


The seller stated that it shows Staffelkapitän Montag decorating his 9./ZG 26 pilots some time in 1940. Could you give me more information on Montag and this destroyer unit?
