No Collar Patches on Uniform

Have this photo here and wonder why he hasnt got any collar patches??
was this usual?

Is this photo from Panzergruppe 1?? because of the K on the Vehicle?

Andreas,

He is wearing his working denims 'drillich' (excuse my spelling), this is normal in working clothes as they were designed to be used for the dirty jobs such as vehicle maintanance. Normally they would not even have the breast eagle, just basic rank insignia as a rule.

Jock is right. Man at the photo is wearing "upgraded" drillich (I prefer "drillich", more than denim too)
