Yugoslavia during wartime: A view through an amateur film.

    Hello,

A while ago I bought a 8mm film from a forum member and I started uploading small fragments of the film on Youtube. Some parts of the film show Yugoslavia during the war, and also show Panzer units there, maybe the 11. Panzer-Division? Also a very nice (but very short) fragment of a aircraft which was maybe captured by the Germans. This is only the first part but I shall upload more fragments of the film the coming days. If you have any information that could make the film more interresting, please share!

    With kind regards,

    Koen.

Hay Koen great job love to see these old private films.
    Fantastic job !

Can I ask, how did you get the old 8mm film or 16mm film onto a digital format ?
Did you do something yourself or use a company and if so, which ?

I have a small mountain of private ww2 films including some great color private films of the afrika korp i must get professionally scanned.

Thanks again for your great work.
    Ian :-)

I just had a quick look on my computer and found one scan from one of my original afrika korp color films.

              Hello,

Thanks for identifying the location! I actually googled a bit due to your comment and found a church that is in Belgrad, which is also being shown on an other part of the film!

              Hello Ian,

Thanks for the kind comment. The seller of the film was kind enough to send me the digital format of the film on a DVD!
Also, that is a very cool looking colour film you have there! Amateur films of Germans are unfortunately so seldom for sale...

              With kind regards,

              Koen.

I shall try to upload other parts of the film on Youtube the coming days, the file is quite large and my computer quite slow so it takes a bit of time haha.
As soon as I have uploaded it I shall post a link in this topic.

                  Greetings,

                  Koen.
