Need Help With Pictures

I have had these pictures for a while. One looks like it was talken Jan 27, 1940 but I have no idea what location. The other is of Bamberg in 1944 but I cannot reade the note on the back.

Any help appreciated.

Second photo, cant quite read the writing, however it does show the Obere Pfarre Kirche in the forground with the St.Stephan Kirche in the background.
