    Small Stamp Collection

    Hi guys.
I just found a small pocket of old german stamps.
I was wondering if there was any member here that could tell me something about them and maybe an idea of value ?

    Thanks.

Hello Ian - sorry to tell you they are worth only pennies apiece. Third Reich stamps tend to have very little value. Most actually are worth more used than mint. For instance the 2kg Feldpost stamp has a catalogue value of 350 Euros used but only 1,50 mint. One exception in this lot is the Dienstmarke from Generalgouvernement which is actually worth less used (Euro 0,70) than mint (25 Euros) - unfortunately yours is used. Keep in mind these are catalogue values which mean next to nothing other than for comparison. Depending on the stamps you would be lucky to get 10-20% of catalogue value.

The ones with the large overprint are from the Generalgouvernement - ie occupied Poland - when they first used existing stocks of Polish stamps and just put the overprint on them.

I think I also see a couple of Boehmen und Maehren stamps which were from occupied Bohemia and Moravia.

Looks like you also have an Italian stamp in there and I can't tell you anything about that one.

All in all it's a nice little lot to keep but not one you can expect to get rich on!

        Hi!
You’ve got some very common and widely circulated stamps which can be easily found on ebay

For example you've got some of the 1942/44 WWII Germany Feldpost stamps common issues, Allgemeine Ausgaben, including military post admission stamps for airmail delivery and parcel post delivery - a complete set on ebay is around £9

The little swastika stamp is from a set released in 1934 – 13 stamps in the set and the whole set can be picked up for around £4

The general government overprints are from 1940 are stamps issued in what was Poland after the invasion– you can pick up a set for about £2

The bugle stamp is commemorating the stamp day of 1944 – can be picked up for 10p – did see someone trying to get 99p for 1 on ebay once but it never sold
        I hope this helps
        cheers!

Again, these are not very expensive - unused single stamp is Euro 0,30 but you may get a small premium with a full sheet.

I have seen crazy sellers on e-Bay try to sell singles for $10. Unfortunately they sometimes succeed. I saw one poor sap pay $45 for one. Just because it's got the SS runes and the Heydrich connection I guess.
