EK2 award document – travelling in time?

    Hello All,

Recently I bought EK2 award document, but after investigating its content in historical sources I am strongly afraid it is fake.

I have to indicate the following:

    1. date of issue: 20.8.1940
    2. stamped with stamp of the SS 11 Rgt “Reinhard Heydrich”

According to historical sources Reinhard Heydrich died on 4th June 1942 and after he died the 11 Rgt of 6th Div SS “Nord” was named with his name based on Himmler’s order.

Based on the above it was impossible to stamp the document with this stamp in 1940 because according to above sources this SS Rgt did not exist under this name at that time (for next 2 years).

Am I right or is there any logical explanation (except for traveling in time)?

Before I return it to the seller I would like to know your opinions.

    Regards,
    JSL

'Nord' itself itself didn't exist until February 1941 when the SS-Kampfgruppe Nord was formed with it becoming SS-Division Nord in Sept 1941 so doesn't look good. Do you have a scan of the citation (for future reference purposes if nothing else)?

That is a fake. Get a refund (although I do like your way of thinking that the only logical explanation is the simple matter of time travel )

Forced aging and bad stamp. Your impressions were correct.

              Complete rubbish.

Also wrong to have a regimental stamp yet being signed by a divisional commander.
