Document Marine Artillerie from 1941 ??

    Hi,

what are the opinions on this document ??

I got it from another collector in my area because he had it twice. Is this a very rare one or is it a fake ??

    Regards,

Nice! Try the KM forum, that'd be my guess.
        Thanks,

Admiral v. Fischel was the Marinebefehlshaber from 02.41-05.43. That certainly seems to be the signature on this document but unfortunately I don't have another copy of his signature to compare to the signature on your document. The document just doesn't look right to me but that may simply be the lighting and that I can't remember ever having seen this style of document before.

As Eric says you will probably have better luck in the Kriegsmarine forum.

After one final look I came up with this signature on a Minesweeper Award Document. Very similar looking signature but the Coastal Artillery Document itself, I just am not sure of.

            Hope this helps.

Dirklein, after some more looking I managed to find another example of the Coastal Artillery Document you asked about. It appears in the following two books by John Angolia:
"for Fuhrer and Fatherland - Military Awards of the Third Reich", page 151 and
              "Die Kriegsmarine - Volume 2", page 147

This example is also signed by von Fischel.

I believe that your document is probably OK however I'd be more comfortable with better photos with natural lighting. The stamp on the document appears to be correct as does v.Fischel's signature. I don't like the bright whiteness of the document but as I said it may just be the lighting when the photos were taken.

The texture of the paper looks wrong. May be the light but would need to have in hand and check with a lupe to be sure.

I agree with Jeff - something doesn't look right with this doc. It almost looks like it was scanned from an original and newly printed.
