Jim and Akira:
You are both scurvey dogs!
I am sure Bill Peltz put you up to this.
But, honestly...very nice photos. may I save them to my archives? I will probably come back to ypu for permission when I seriously get back to my research. I'd post some of my own...but I have to fly to Korea this week...and have to pack.
hmmmnnn...I will be much closer to brother Akira....hmmmnnnnn....I think I have a two hour layover on Tokyo....hmmnnnCSP

Akira-Nice photos thanks for sharing.
Scott- Have a safe trip to Korea. Feel free to use any of the pictures I posted. Sounds like your planning a quick raid in Japan ha,ha. I have a few other pictures as well that I'll eventually get around to posting.I'm not really a photo collector like Bill but I've picked up GD ones on occasion. I really like the larger framed ones since they look nice on the wall. Regards Jim
PS I also have a xerox copy of Diddo Diddens photo album that I just scanned to my computer.I played around with a few of the scans and they actually turned out rather well. I won't publish those photos on the forum since I don't know who has the album. But if you want a copy of it after I finish them up let me know.

Scott: my home is less than 2 hours from Narita airport, drop me a line whenever you have chance, if not this time.
Jim: Diddens! Do you know how much deep impression I have of the photo of Diddens when he was given his Eichenlaub at the hospital! Heavily bandaged around his head and neck... The photos of his in the book Sturmartillerie im Bild (Biblio) may have come from his own photo album perhaps?

Akira:
If I can call I will. I may have just a quick layover and have never made a call on a Japanese pay phone. But I can try.
Jim:
I would love to see the Diddi Diddens album scans. Believe it or not I think I know who has it and for the last two years I have been negotiating for his things...I may be successful one day in the next year or two. But...should not say more.
Sincerely,
ScottCSP

Akira/Scott,It appears that many of the photos from Diddens album have been used in a number of references.
It will take several weeks before I get all the photos edited, there are 70-80 of them.Still trying to format a bunch of Bills.
I don't remember the circumstances by which I got the copy of the album. It was about 5-6 years ago. It might have been that some of his items were being sold off.I never kept track since I'm not a fanatic GD collector. Have just enough to compliment the rest of my Heer stuff.
Regards jim

Jim, Scott and Akira,
I believe I can shed some light on where those Dido Diddens photos came from. My friend Karl-Heinz Muench had the original photo album loaned to him and he copied the entire album for his archives. Jim to refresh your mind I was the one that got them from Karl-Heinz and gave them to you. I believe we all have our CRS moments!!
Scott....that's PETZ not PELTZ!!! actually I was unaware that Jim was going to put his GD photos up on the forum but not surprised since he has some really good ones. Many of them are in frames and have not been shown yet. I know because most of them came from me!!! whoops..Sorry!!!
Jim a word of warning....Scott is flying out soon be prepared for a night jump and commando raid on your GD collection.
