Ah, Dinkelsbühl... I've been there for the commemorative fest. Something about one of the invading armies (Swedish?) in the 100 Years War (or one of those wars) laying siege to Dinkelsbühl, and the town children begging the enemy commander not to destroy the town, and he honored their request... or something like that. The fest these days is of course accompanied by much beer, and I had had one (or two or three) two many Weizens when I was there, so I don't remember the particulars!

very interesting items
I was going through my collection of papers given to me by a WWII vet. I found a postcard unmarked with a German helmet with a swastika printed 1939 with a sword going thorugh the swastika diagonally and the leaves going down through diagonally on the other side of the swastika. I also found a Pocket Guide To France issued to the American troops before France was liberated. It has a lot of good reading and at the ending of the book is a guide to the French language. Anybody interested, please let me know.
Thank you,
Danny
