    Tank Photo

    Here's one of the few "action" photographs my grandfather brought home that was actually taken during the war. It's tough to make out the details, but presumably that's a Sherman (or not?)

    Taken ~spring 1945 in Germany.

            He is just fiering a shot, the fotographer had luck taking the foto just in time.

              I believe that Gran Sasso is correct. The explosion is muzzle blast from the tank's main gun.

              Here's the succinct caption on the reverse of the image.
