    SS photo with tiger panzer

    Hi,

what do you think about it? Not glowing under UV, but that says nothing. Is originality to judge from a pic?

    Thanks
    Udo

This specifc image is very well known....the actual photo being pictured here clearly a post-war reproduction (glowing or not).

By that evidence it's pretty difficult to tell.

In the second picture around the area of the main guy's shoulder you get to see the texture of the surface of the photo in the light reflection and it does not look particularly convincing to me. Based on that I would not buy unless they had a good returns policy.

Could you show a close up of the lower right corner of photo #1 clearly showing the yellowing around the edge and the frame of the picture (right up to say the guy's hand ) ?

I have it here, with full money back guarantee. I have the feeling of a copy, too.

Sorry - I meant to say lower left corner, sorry (feel v clever for that

I wanted to see if it was a photo of a photo - ie if it had a frame within the frame if you know what I mean. Going by what Hundestaffel has said and the general appearance I'd give it a miss.

The scalloped edging of the photo paper bothers me.
Looks like the typical post war “Soviet Achieves” crap being sold today from the former eastern bloc countries.
                    Sorry for the bad news

Nice photo of a well known Das Reich Knights Cross presenatation ceremony but unfortunately not original.

Here is a scan of the same photo I own. Its on Ridax paper. I believe mine is an original sold to troops at a canteen.

Lack of picture quality in evidence on the copy compared to yours Tim , this photo and the remainder of the series are also found in the Bundesarchiv,

                          regards

                          Paul
