    again bad news .Sword Winner Hermann Hogeback died 15th of February 2004 .One more legend of the Luftwaffe has gone ,unfortunately ......

      how does someone learn of this kind of thing? Published in a paper or is there a web page that keeps track?

        Hermann Hogeback.

        Jacques, not the best example however this is the ONLY photo I have which shows him wearing his ribbon bar. I hope it may be of some use.

        Always looking for Luftwaffe Kampfflieger related document groups. In particular anything to Kampfgeschwader 2.

            That leaves only 9 Knights cross with Oakleaves and sword winners.

            What I read about him he was a very nice man, always willing to reply to letters from collectors and historian, I was lucky to write tio him a few months ago.
