Hi Kurt, good to hear from you again!

I believe the two pictures are from Pz.Rgt.2.

Unrelated to Pz.Rgt.2, but this is 20.Pz.Div.

My best friend (and der Meister) pointed me out about an inaccuracy in my reference to the bear of Pz.Rgt.35 - he has now signed up the forum (and waiting for approval), so stay tuned to hear from him

                Hello Akira and Kameraden !
at first, I would like to thank to Mr. Petz and djpool for the valuable pictures shared by them. I am always enjoing your photos.
As for the Bear Emblem on Panzers, I have searched for many years. And, I can say it now that this "Bear" is Abteilung's insigina of I.Abt./PzRgt.35 since 1940 until June 1944 when II.Abt. with Pzkpfw.Panthers rejoined the Regiment. As the II.Abt. was then redesignated as I.Abt., I.Abt. became II.Abt.
The "Bear" was retained by the redesignated II.Abt..
We should pay attention that PzRgt. 35 had only I.Abt. since June 1942 to June 1944, without Rgt.-Stab (became Stab sPzJgRgt. 656).
Meny phtos of Panzers with this Bear can be found in the photo books on 4.Panzerdivision published by Concord Pub. and Polish Wydawnictowo MILITARIA series.

                  Herzlich Willkommen, Kitamura-san!

Thank you for pointing out that the bear was a batallion insignia and not a regimental insignia - the difference is important for us unit marking buffs, just like an LDO mark is different from a maker mark!

Kitamura-san (his first name is Hiroshi, by the way) is one of the first writers who used Panzerlage and other original documents to research photos of various Panzer units. Currently he writes serial article "Panzerblatt" in Armour Modelling magazine. Old subscribers of AFV News magazine may also be aware of his name.

I would appreciate it if you can participate in the forum from time to time, if not often!
