I just got this photo postcard of Josef Wagner (interesting fellow). The postcard is very thin, have you seen other postcards on very thin card stock?

Wrong Gauleiter Wagner I'm afraid - the photo is Josef, not Robert.

Josef Wagner was fired becasue he was a devout Catholic who wouldn't let his daughter marry an SS man. After some palace intrigue involving Bormann he lost his post. He disappeared in the last days of the war without trace but the consensus is that he was murdered by the SS.

Like many others, Wagner was implicated in the bomb plot when Hans von Dohnanyi's archive of resistance materials was discovered by the Gestapo in Zossen in Sept. 44.

Jody - depending on when the card was printed it would come as no surprise that the card stock is flimsy. Much like the quality of medals and badges etc. the quality of many postcards went down as the war went on. This was especially true of Feldpost cards.
