Never seen a Stahlhelm on arm! Any related (if not with that Stahlhelm!) photos from the wearer?

Also, the so-called Stalingrad cross is interesting!

I think the GD picture is the same one shown in one of Angolia's book - first volume on Heer uniforms. In that book he makes what reads like a guess, that this white helmet distinguished som ekind of school or student (maybe because the photo look slike the soldiers are in class?).

Dave Suter (Sarge) has a uniform in his collection - a summer white officer's - that has a similar patch on the same arm, only in black and qith a silver chord border.

To date, my research ahs not turned up any explanation for either - beyond what I present here.

Th ephoto of the soldier wearing the H&D is a great photo.
