    sscrooge:

A superb (and scarce) album indeed.

Nice to see the RAF vet's captions alongside the original German owner's captions and that no photos / docs have been "Cherry Picked" over the years.

I personally love the Sturmgeschutz photo....there's collectors out there that would sell their left nutt for Grey-Wrapper Soldbuch from a Jersey Sturmgeschutz member....

I wonder if the extra captions in English aren't in fact by the original owner himself as the English is so bad.

Do you know how the KM docs relate to the clearly army album?
Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

        Simon,
I think you are spot on. The English captions are definitely not written by an Englishman. They indicate grammar used, not by someone of poor education, but someone who has not mastered the command of the language, as in the case of someone who has learnt it, but not fluently.
        A nice album.

I sent a few scans to the Jersey heritage archives centre, they told me that the golf course is still there and that during the occupation the germans heavily mined it incase of invasion, they also mentioned that its a very interesting album and if i ever wanted to deposit it with them i could, but its made itself at home with me now rgds Dave

Although this was posted some time ago it must be pointed out that this album does not in fact contain any photo's from Jersey in the Channel Islands. And the "v" sign poster was a 1970's made tourist piece.... Jersey/ Channel Island albums are sought after especially by myself along with soldbuch and wehrpass from soldiers who were in the Islands. Unfortunately this album does not come from here.... shame as it would have been good to see it otherwise.
