    General der Panzertruppe Fritz-Hubert Gräser

I don't normally collect General's photos, but I couldn't pass this one up.

I believe this is General der Panzertruppe Fritz-Hubert Graeser?

It is a very interesting 'war trophy'. One can read the caption that GI wrote before sending it home. I'm just wondering what the photo may have been doing down in Berchtesgaden?

    Best,
    John

Close up of the Traditions Badge for the 3 Infanterie Division, which Gräser commanded from 1943-1944.

The comment has destroyed the whole photo.
There was/is also another one with another unfriendly comment.

Interesting...The 'comment' is one of the reasons I decided to purchase the photo. One can find plenty of Army General's photos to buy, but the comment with the location/date offer a unique look into the GI mindset, creating, what I felt, was an interesting piece of history.

I'm curious, what did you mean by there is 'another'?

          Regards,
          John

At the dealers site where this one came from was another photo of him with this comment: "Ignorant Guy, Ain't he."
For me it is worthless, but we have different points of view, and that's Ok.

I am happy with what I have.

I didn't know about the other photo though, thanks for clarifying.

              Best,

John...I agree it is unique portrait and not worthless. I like it as it adds to the historical value knowing that a GI picked up this photo as a war souvenir.

I also agree with you, John; the handwritten note is what makes it interesting.

                    Good score.

                    Regards,

                    Drew
