    who or what group are these guys

    I bought a photo album from an estate sale american tanker but this photo was in it along with two small portraits of german soldiers just wondering what branch of service they are i am assuming they are german not american

          The first one is RAD , the other two are Army. The US vet saved them in his scrap book as a souvenir. My uncle did the same thing. The fourth one is US and looks like a M2 Stuart tank.

            pics look like POW pix maybe?....could it not be a sherman with it turret facing rearwards?

                  M5A1 I would say.

                  The neat thing in the phot is we see yet another variation on the Cullen cutter.

                  A bit of a missnomer as they were never actully used to cut though the hedge rows but actully used to plough the front of the tank down so it would not ride up and expose its belly.

                  That way a tank could keep hull down while firing forward.

                  We have re-enactors to thank for this tid-bit. Some years ago they tried to push though a headgerow (unsuccess-fully ) until a vet set them staight on what they actully did.
