I was lucky to get this unusual group of an an extremely rare decoration. The family is still looking for the medal and threw the case away!

Up to the time of his award he had deactivated 287 mines on the rail tracks, often under enemy fire, and was wounded in July 1942 during a detonation which caused him to lose hearing in one ear.
