    Hi, Just thought I'd post this. A very good image I think, with tanks, palm trees and a pith helmet, great.

      Hi Gerdan and thanks for that link, but I have already bid on it, though your link still shows none. Ther is another one for sale, but that has had a few bidders, so I might not bother.

      In stamp collecting terms, these are first day covers, I think, not postcards.

        This is in fact a postcard. The proper term in German is Ganzsache which generally means that it is a postage paid card (stamp imprinted). This card is one of a series of 4 cards that illustrate Afrikakorps, Deutsche Feldpost, Kriegsmarine and Organisation Todt. They were issued Jan. 11, 1942 and were also issued for some occupied regions with overprint such as "Ostland" which is illustrated in this thread. Also issued with Ukraine overprint. The commemorative postmark is a first day cancellation but can't technically be called a cover since it is not an envelope...Holger
