    Question in regards to Flugbuch Entry's

    Hello,

    I recently purchased a rather nice Flugbuch and there are a few entry's that im not so good in, namely in regards towards the Bombs that where dropped.

    Who can tell me what the following abbrevations mean :

    * 250 SC
    * 50 SD
    * 4 x FL

    There is anotehr abbrevation : LM = that means Luftmine.

    Thanks in advance,

              Flugbuchand bomb types

              Hi,

              @ Hans: thank you very much for that link, very informative

              @ Ian : I can shout for sure

              @ Dirk: I wil see what i can do in this case,but there is no need to worry as i only buy Flugbuch's when they have something to do with Glider pilots or Cholm => so there will be plenty enough to buy

              Cordial greetings,

                Well => OK

                Hello,

                Well since im not a cruell human i have decided to share one page out of this flugbuch, this person was a crewmember from a bomber unit who did see action in May 1940 (Holland, Belgium, France) + went on to get involved in the battle of Britain.

                This person was a very lucky one as he survived even the war, i can trace his operational flights between May 1940 and March 1943 with a total number of no less then : 310 operational Flights !!!!!!!!!!

                here is just one page out of his Flugbuch and it shows a piece out of the Battle of Britain => as you can see he did a few bombing runs one Middlesburg, Newcastle, London, etc .... + they even did make a "Notlandung" in Holland.

                I hope you guys do enjoy it

                      No

                      Stijn- Sadly no. As I am most days at work when Detlev posts. The two books were priced very well and I would have liked to have picked them up. Maybe this friday I'll see what comes up. Take care.

                        Hi Stijn

                        I just came across this old thread while looking for something else. Did you get an answer to your question? They are types of bomb (SC = designed for penetration against bridges and ships 250kg; SD = fragmentation bomb for use against troops and light vehicles 50kg). Not sure on FL but might be torpedoes.
