Question about photo of indian with US belt buckle and more

    Hi mates,

I received a photo of an North America Indian with US belt buckle,
rifle and more. I've found the name of the photographer at google
    with some interesting informations.
My question is about the worth of this photo and where I can find
collectors who may be interested in this nice piece.

Thanks in advance and with kind regards,
    Sven.

Well I do have a line on

      H. Sonnendberg, Active 1880~1904 in Pittsburgh and Allegheny City, Pa

So this is most likely not an 'Indian War' period photo

This would be a period 'Dude' Photo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dude photo a very common sort of photo to do at the time.

Not much value I am afraid but people do collect these.

These were sometimes very elaborate set up photos any good photorapher of the time would have a whole wardrobe of costumes, props, backdrops and even extras to give that 'Wild west' feeling in the photo.

Sometimes they can be very funny as one I have seen where the subject is in buck-skins with high mountains a tepee in the background with with his trusty six shooter and Indian guide at his side. Looking a little closer the subject is wearing dress-shoes with spats and his Indian Guide has a collar and tie on??

One more little point the rifle in the photo me thinks is a Springfield M1898

      cheers
      John
