Anyhow...old timers (and maybe some newer collectors) will see some peculiar things about the uniforms...two in particular that jumped out at me.

I think Akira could even identify the unit with a fair amount of probablility.

What doo you see and whatdo you think about it?
    1) Very small Pz Barets ...
    2) Pz Off on the left is wearing a Luft type Pz side cap...

I know sometimes they removed the covers and just wore the pad/crash helmet?

          Mystery Cap

I don't think these are regular panzer berets with the rubber insert removed. The diameter of the beret was much larger than the head and if you took out the insert it would be even larger.

Scott is this the only shot you have of these guys? Has anyone ever seen other pictures of this type of headgear?

a close up (or identification) of the badge/medal (only one has one) could help to date and maybe to locate this pic, as looking at some side caps there is a good chyance that it is in Spain and that in the crew there are some Spanish guys

                        Hi Scott -

Is that a plaque over th eone window? Would it be possible to get an enlargement of that? It may be too dark, but we may be able to make something out - it may give a clue to location.

                          Beret

                          Hi Scott,

As far as you know, were there any other units of the Wehrmacht that would have worn this type of beret later in the war? I was just watching volumn #10 of the "Germany at War" series. A quick scene showed two soldiers wearing similar berets jumping into a raft full of infantry. Unfortunately it was shot into the sun so I could not make out much detail and the narrator did not single them out. They seemed to be wearing some type of jumpsuit or coverall (but not falshirmjager). This was during the Russian campaign. Any ideas?
