    Waffen-SS Photo group from my family

    Hello,

    I want to show you a little photo group from my familiy!
    It show´s the brother of my grandfather!
    He was in the: Pionier-Bataillon SS-Division Reich
    And before he was by the: 38. SS-Standarte "Graz"

            Very nice pics, in post two what is the badge above the cufftitle
            is it naval?

              The badge is a qualification rating as a pilot of a water landing craft.
              This is the first time I have seen this badge on a SS uniform

                Note that he is also wearing a rare branch piped visor cap.

                  This is only the second time i have seen the boatswain badge on an SS Mann the other is a photo of SS Hauptscharfuhrer Ewald Ehm of the Pionier Kompanie of the Deutschland Regiment.

                          Very nice you rarely see the Assault boat cox'n badge.

                          Funny he is also wearing the Frozen meat ribbon in the buttonhole and also is wearing the medal hanging from the pocket.

                          Defiantly not regulation


                          Another odd one I have just noticed is in pic #4, The upside down aircraft the guy on the right has and pardon my ignorance what is the device the SS man has on his collar.
