    Hans Hube

Does anyone have any photographs of Generaloberst Hans Hube that are full length ? There are many publications with head and shoulder shots, but I am trying to find ful length shots as reference material for artist Malcolm MacGregor who is doing some artwork showing Hube. Malcolm is a stickler for accurancy and knowing that Hube had an amputation on his left arm, is looking for info on whether he wore a prosthetic arm, or simply pinned up the empty sleeve, or may have done either depending on the circumstance.

He is also doing artwork on Julius Ringel, another who is generally seen in head and shoulder shots but as far as I can see, not often seen "full length"

    Can anyone help ?

    Hans Hube picture

    Gordon,

If I´m not mistaken (I´m not at home right now), there is a picture of him above waist in the book "Knights of The Reich" by Gunther Fraschka. I can post this picture after I get home. It is not THAT good but it is something. Besides, I´m pretty sure that he used a prosthetic arm.

    All the best,

    Douglas.

      Hi Gordon!

I have an above the waist pic of Hube clearly showing him wearing a prosthetic. I also have a full length pic of Ringel. Since I can't post them, if you PM me your e-mail address, I'll send them to you.

      Regards,

Thanks guys, I think that establishes quite conclusively that he wore a prosthetic arm Malcolm can proceed with his artwork on that basis.

Was Hube's plane shot down or was the crash an accident?
Don't believe everything you read on the internet, that's how WWI got started.

              Hi!

Hube's plane crashed flying from Berchtesgaden on 21. April, 1944, one day after being promoted to Generaloberst and personally receiving the Diamonds to the Knight's Cross from the hands of Hitler. There are no indications that it was anything other than an accident.

              Regards,

              VJK
