Brilliant Faces

I bought this photo recently in a local flea market and i absolutely love it.
I know it is WW1 and not my area of collecting but I thought the faces of these young German soldiers was quite amazing and moving.
These guys must have been only 18-20 years old when they fought on the fields of France.

Ah-yes, nothing like the cruel Prussians who baynoted babies, as the
popular press of the day would print.
Like most conscripts, they would rather be somewhere else.

You could put a British, French, Belgium, or Russian Helmet on them
all would look the same. A few individuals, from many millions, who have
now passed into History.
