I've seen that photo before somewhere. Was it on ebay?
Anyway. The edelweiss in this case is not IMHO a unit kennzeichen....although it's pretty. Purely going on the Narvik shield....and i'd bet he got his EKII at Narvik too. The chances are he's in GJR 139 or at least the 3 Geb Div. He could also of course have been with one of the small contingents from the other GJR regiments which were present at Narvik, thats GJR 136, 137 and 138. Naturally this photo may also have been taken after he was posted to another unit...possibly a training unit back home. Possible as he's a senior NCO.
