Im sure many here have done business with him, he has nice photos and great feedback. But Im absolutly sick of seeing greedyness within this hobby, aparantly this guy has an unlimited supply of rare photos and has no problem seperating groupings that have been together since the war. Not just this member there are quite a few others. Just had to get that off my chest, any other thoughts?

I agree I do not like the fact that photo groups are seperated.

I have mixed feelings on this issue...The most important thing is that the images are saved digitally ...photo albums and collections often tell a story ..an individual photo in isolation while interesting is only part of a jigsaw .
I have a large number of original photo albums . Boer war & WW1 photos are fading away fast , perhaps as many as 75% of the content of the average album of this period are beyond recovery . Within a couple of decades nearly everything of the original photos taken at this period will have disappeared . The same generally applies to WW2 US photos . Eventually , even the better quality German WW2 photos will deteriorate .
I'm guessing the average cost of my album purchases has been around £ 200. If I wanted to sell them complete , in the current market I might be lucky to recover my original outlay ..however, if I chose to break them all up , I estimate on average each album might yield £ 500- £600 . the best images will sell for hundreds each .This is why dealers break them up .
I have felt uncomfortable on the few occasions that I have broken up an album ( only the less interesting , commonly seen Flak & RAD ) ..but we all have to bills to pay ....and there is a huge number of willing buyers for individual images ...many of whom are contributors to this forum site .

        It's a shame, that's a fact....

But asking prices for photo-albums arround €1500 wich contains only 5 good photo's are not an exeption.

When all these wunderful photo-albums were never stripped, I wouldn't have so much great original photo's in my collection.

        It's simple the market!

The same happens when documents and medals are split or even a document group from one soldier scattered all over.

It's the market like laurens said.

            Difficult issue.
I like to keep things together. I've sold many groups at a loss(or no profit) just to keep them together. That is not good business sense.
Sometimes I see great albums offered for thousands of dollars and I wish I could buy them but cannot afford.
Nowadays I am buying single photos that I really like and it saves me the dilemma of being tempted to break up groupings/albums in the future.
Sometimes I wish I could be more "cold" and just be in it for the $. ....I don't hold it against anybody that does.....or at least I try not to.

Hate to see it when photo lots are parted. But as laurens said, the market rules.
