Superb pics mate!!! ...And I agree with the guys on the personalities, also agree that they were taken at von Bock's Tactical Headquarters (Army Group Centre) in the East...can't imagine the gathering of as much brass anywhere else what!

Given that von Bock is wearing the second type Generalfelmarschall's collartabs (not instituted until April 1941 seen clearly in post #13) and that von Kluge is wearing the RK but not oakleaves and that Oshima is not wearing the Grand Cross of the German Eagle (awarded after Dec 7, 1941, I think we can narrow the timeframe to some point during the first few months of Operation Barbarossa.

Hard to tell on Raus, but I agree with Guderian and Hoth was a good pick up with only a shot of him from the rear mate!!!
      Cheers, Steve

It's General Hiroshi Ōshima if i'm not wrong. It would be interesting to know the diplomat is. Also, stunning photos you got!

#1, 5, 8, 13 and the last pic ( let's call it 22, saluting AH) -- the short general, not Rau but GenMj Hans v Greiffenberg, CdS to v Bock's HrGr Mitte since 10.05.41. At least some of these pics were taken within a short time frame for v Greiffenberg received RK on 18.05.41. So before Barbarrossa.

                  Cheers

in #15 coming out behind v Bock and v Brauchitsch and in #19 saluting v Brauchitsch was v Bock's second IIa ObstLt Fritz v Below (when these pics were taken IIa was Lungershausen).

#6 cannot be Hilpert as he was not in this theatre of war.

                    Cheers

Have you noticed everyone hated the cakes in #4? Oshima and v Bock were grimacing. The officer nearest to the camera was either taking his denture off or eating a piece of beef jerky!

                      Cheers

Superb set!! Really... any WW2 museum would be proud to have this in their collection.

                          Cheers!

Rob, the best thing is the fact that they came directly from the family of the soldier. The other technical photos were not bad either but of course not to compare with these.

                              best regards,

                              Jim
