        ...

Same two officers -- you can make out a cloth Pilot's badge on the uniform of the RK winner on the left.

          Id ...

I believe the guy on the right above is Martin Meisel.

However, I do not know the other officer. Any help appreciated.

Where did you find that picture if you mind asking me?

I have a group photo of Fallschirmjaegers and I believe both are wearing cloth badges but one of the two is wearing a Cloth LWGAB. Here is a close shot of the two FJ

Perhaps the one on the top left, but the one on the bottom does not follow the folds of the mans uniform which a cloth version would definitely do.

Some great pics of FJ awards in wear though Bill!

                      Wow, killer photos

Akira, loved the photo you posted. Do you know where it is taken and who the guy is?

Mike H, great pics. The cloth GAB is amazing and the cloth clasp pics are stunning. Do you have any pics of WWI cloth badges in wear on WWII soldiers?

                        ...

No, I don't have any photos of WWI badges in cloth/bullion being worn by WWII personnel. However, I have seen and handled a beautiful WWI Observer's badge in bullion (George Petersen collection) but like a fool, didn't buy it at the time.

Unfortunately no names. It is one picture from a complete film strip and there is a city view, so someone may be able to pinpoint the location, aside from time.

I found this grave of a man who fell in Simferopol in frame 18A. It is safe to assume that the man (23A) was pictured in the city or vicinity.

Yes, that would make sense. So it´s a big possibillity that the guys name was Frans Grandl and he died at 27 in 1941 in Ukraina. Are there any other soldier close to but before frame 18A who could be the one buried there?

It's not an album, it's a 40-frame film strip... A couple of day's activities of the photographer... First he took photos from a window of a Tante Ju52... Yes everyone does that! ... Then Tante lands on a airfield near Simferopol, he visits a graveyard, then moves into town. In the room he took images of his comrades... and the day comes to an end. That's the story, so the grave has nothing to do with the LW comrades.
