Schlammperiod - difficulties in the mud

I was going to post this to "at the front" or similar threads, but it occurred to me that one of the true difficulties in the east - muddy period - might needs special attention, so a new thread.

German soldiers try to help their fellow workhorse in the mud, despite of the hopeless situation they are in. The other horses look ill-fed.

Compared to the cold Wolchow, the southern sector might be a bit better. But everything is colored by mud...
