Hello JW maybe unusual wasn't the right word. However, most of the portraits I found so far show panzer soldaten with OS caps, this is the first one I got with a schirmmuetze. That's it.

Probably just left his office in back ground or come out of a meeting there..he is at a stride when fotoed..Looks like combat has ebbed so its OK to gussy up with the visor cap.. OR the veteran panzer man has moved up the ladder to a staff position... JMHO Billbert
