Jager Hans Siegler's RK ceremony was presented to the German public in Deutsche Wochenschau. I don't remember date and wochenschau number. In the film sequence he not only receives a Knight's cross but also a little piglet.

                  Another photo of Siegler
EK-I is pinned unusually high position on his chest.

Yeah, it's amazing what a little (or a lot) of beer can do to liven ones spirits

Seriously though, beautiful photos... Notice he's not even been awarded a assault badge yet! The RK and TDBs must have all been awarded for one extremely heroic action. As has already been mentioned, it's very interesting to see how the TDBs have been attached - a bit more sloppy than I would have expected to see, with one partially covering the Jäger patch, even in the first studio portrait where the strips have been permanently attached. I love the shot of him being awarded the RK - just awesome You can see that the TDBs also appear to have just been awarded as they look pinned in place.

Do you have any more info on Siegler? I.e. what action(s) he was awarded the RK for? I'd love to hear more about his story. Do you know if any of his other effects managed to survive the tests of time? Did he survive the war?

Once again, great photos! Thanks for sharing them with us.
