Hand-written EK2 document dated 1940

    Which could also explain why he went for a stamp. Could be he had writing difficulties.
    Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

      Looks authentic to me. My question to the other members who doubt the signature, does your signature look EXACTLY the same every time? I don't think so. This one appears genuine and consistent with his other known examples.

        Based on what I've read and seen in the thread so far, I'm inclined to give this document a provisional . I really appreciate all the input so far.

        A question: when I do finally have this in my hand, what kinds of things can I check that may help me authenticate it, besides paper stock (consistency with known originals)? I am a paper novice.

          I totally agree with Mike here! I would have no problem with this document and for that matter the cross it came with in My collection! Great cross!!!

            Yep, paper is one thing, the other is to just look at the printed parts to check it hasn't been done by a modern printer but from what you've shown it looks ok.
