    Pushing this forum.....

May I ask readers and contributors of this forum, what they would like to see/discuss here - As most of you know, my main interest/knowledge is LW (flying units), BUT this forum before all, is for you - so other aspects/branches have to be approach (not only LW)

Just let me know what topic, pic, doc you want to discuss and even if we don't have experts, we have specialists able to help. Also don't hesitate to ask, to post (if you can't send me or to somebody else the pics you want to see on this forum).

Soon, we will have a new article on the doc for qualification badges of the LW (flying units) - but it will be good to have the same for other branches.

Also, if you have other ideas, suggestions... feel free, it is your forum

    Francois:
I started a similar thread on the Uniforms and Equipment section. Seems most want pictures - no surprise. If we had a free method of posting pictures, you would believe from the number of comments, that many.many people would contribute.

Personally, I would like to see specific types of documents discussed each as a separte thread - such as panzer assualt badge documents (who was authorized to sign? who has the most unusual example? who has rare documents to significant people or units? How do you read the German scribbled signatures?, etc, etc), or any type of combat award - especially cufftitles which are an interest of mine.

I agree with Scott. A seperate thread exploring each (at least the more common perhaps) awards documents, known variations, dates, unusual units etc. etc.
Personally i'm quite interested in seeing examples of genuine awards dated post-9th May '45. The Lappland shield is well known for this (and i did start a thread on it a while back) but EK docs and Woundbadge docs at the very least exist too.
I'd also like to see threads similar to some of Bill Stump's 'Super threads' discussing some of the ultra rare documents.

      Regards

        I also agree,
Scott, please, feel free to start a thread on GD docs.
Simon, please do the same on the kind of doc you want to see - I think that with the help of everybody we will do something.

Francois- Since I am stuck on Flugbuchs right now I would love to see a thread on interesting Flugbuch entries. I asked for the same in the FJ Forum and got to see some great items. Also would like to know a bit more on how the books were maintained-one copy with the squadron and one with the pilot? Did pilots record the entries or did a squadron OPS officer record for him. Also questions on cover types and color codes used pilots used to mark missions (I know combat is in red but several books use blue as well). Well thats all I can think of right now.

What keeps me from branching out too far into documents is my ignorance. I've heard that there are fakes being made and this scares me away from spending $$ on a group of Day Fighter clasp documents (bronze thru gold to one man). This can easily be $1000 for three pieces of paper that I don't know how to authenticate.
Deterioration also makes me apprehensive to invest too much in docs.
So authentication and preservation are two big interests for me.

I'll strike again tomorrow, keep the motor running !!
              Goodnight folks,

              Jos.

                  Hi,
I don't really like to discuss, but I like to know more about the Luft Afrika theatre.
I think I've missed the right books and pictures.
I'd like to see all kinds of tropical outfits together with fieldgear, nice tropical pithhelmet shots,Luft tropical footwear being worn,"tropical Flyers" and all other tropical related Luftshots.
If someone knows some good books with good pictures in it,please give me titles, beware my main interest is Luft, not WH !

François, where can I get one of those fabulous Lw-sweaters ?
I hope you did buy a couple of 20 when they found that Luft stuff ?

                  Regards,
                  Jos.
