Wartheland - Tag der Freiheit 1940 - postcard

I think this is a beautiful postcard. Couple of questions I have:

    1. Does anyone else have it?
    2. Is it part of a series?
    3. What was the Tag der Freiheit 1940?

    Cheers, Torsten.

Here is my postcard of the first Version, same as yours. I have also showing the reverse of the card which has the special cancellation.

The 26 Oct 1940 was declared as "Tag der Freiheit" of the Wartheland. It was the first anniversary of the foundation of the "Reichsgau Wartheland".

I had thought someone would post an image of the overprinted 2nd version I had alluded to earlier in this thread.

Since no one has I'll post the image.

Notice the addition of the dates on the overprint at the bottom of the card.

Hi Ramon, that is kind of unusal for them to overprint the year to use the card for the following year, rather than run a new batch of cards ... not seen this before in Third Reich propaganda postcards. Thanks for showing. Cheers, Torsten.
