Although I don't collect Luftwaffe I had to pick up this unusual Luftwaffe document group with ranks I had never heard of.

Does anyone know what this rank is? I assume it is that of an official (Luftwaffenbeamte) but could not find it in the Angolia/Schlicht books. When I looked on Lexikon der Werhmacht the organization came up.

It is the same as Oberleutnant. He was a LW-Beamter. The shoulder boards are the LW Beamte style, with the dark green bottom layer and the bordeaux red middle layer. His tabs would have been the typical dark green type, with the silver half wreath and two triangles.

Thanks Jeremy! I love to illustrate documents with bits of uniform that are pertinent. This tunic is VERY heavily worn, with many field repairs and patching. I think that it was worn in a POW camp or something. The tunic itself is made from a very fine, almost silk like material. Definitely not made for the environment where it was used.

It came denazified. I placed the eagle on the tunic for the sake of the photo. Ironically, it only cost like 300 dollars on Ebay, a few years back.
