    Interesting photo...

Can anyone help me to ID this guy. I am unable to read the back of the photo, perhaps the name is there somewhere. He looks like a general (his pants - trousers have the ''general'' like piping).

I don't think I have ever seen a guy with more decorations!! Very cool photo.

    Comments welcome.

      The German text:

Erinnerung an meinen Quartierwirt, Herrn Zaum, in Grimmlinghausen/a. Rhein
In memory of my host, Mr. Zaum, in Grimmlinghausen am Rhein.

      Sept./Okt. 1939

        Thanks Gerdan,

        That was helpful.

Now, can anyone ID any of the decorations? I assume they are WWI and earlier...

          Hi
All medals are, as far I can see, used in the german October-Fest tradition, some might
call them Carnival-Medals, could also be "shooting awards"
In the Oct.Fest tradition you could bee choosen to be "master fool" Bandleaders could
have sudden ranks too,-so I`m in for this, no real items at all.
