Yes its Possible, Ive seen Documents to Units that were in Captivity administrating them self's Days/weeks after Wars End.

After Courland the boats sailed to Murwik and Flensburg where they surrendered Mid May..

Just recently got a small grouping to a soldier with a mineclearing unit after the war in the far North of Norway and it includes a promotion document to stabsgefreiter from July 1946!
