                      unfortunately the pictures are not captioned on the back. The photos could be in France. It was normally forbidden to photograph the dead (enemy dead allowed).

                        Tank on the last picture looks like Russian BT. I couldnTt identify model. Probably BT5 or BT7. These photos maybe taken in Russia?

                          fascinating set, reminding us behind the elite forces image and elan lay hideously heavy losses. on an equipment level, i notice in pic 2 the trooper on the left is wearing Bakelite binocular case on the belt, rather than strap. havent seen that before in a period picture. while the man on the right wears a leather wire cutters pouch on his belt.
