Kriegsberichter Report

I have recently come into posession of a report by Kriegberichter Hans Metzler (War Correspondent)

Dated July 1942, mentions 17th July “das die le. J .D.’s seit l. Juli “Jager Division” heissen” from internet search is it not correct that the Jager divison was not formed until April 1943?

Can anyone tell me anything else about Hans Metzler (pics if possible) and from the pages I have posted the topic (think it may be Russia?) there are around 30 pages in total.

A Hans Metzler published in 1941 a book dealing with the history of the G J.R. 99 (Gebirgsjäger)

"J.D." is not a Jäger-Division, but an "Infanterie-Division", in this case a "leichte Infanterie-Division".

Originally "I" and "J" was the same letter... You will find many "I"'s written as "J" in german documents at the time. Guess why Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.J appeared following the Ausf.H.
