              A few photos from a slovenian soldier in Gebirgsjager regiment 137

              He was enlisted on 22.7.1942, captured in may 1945 at Leoben and released in october the same year. He was wounded twice in the east.









              Sorry if this is offtopic, but what type of a helmet cover is he wearing in this photo?

                A curiously reversed Edelweiss. Was this common practise or just a personal affectation?

                        Servus Kerry,

                        Wearing the Edelweiss with the flower forward was common among Austrians...this was how they wore it during World War I. Austrian Gebirgsjägers continue the practice today.
