Oops, wrong picture. The doc appears to have been folded possibly to go in a soldbuch.

Nice document Jeff and not one that surfaces that often.

Jeff, may I ask you about your homework regarding this document?

                  What does 2./II./... stand for?

Likewise, my initial thoughts on this document were not favourable!!

I haven't seen too many of these docs so asking more out of curiosity than anything else but would it be normal to put the soldiers Date & Of Birth & place of birth on these TDB docs?

No.....I have seen a couple of suspect ones that had DoB and even address, however it is an award citation. With the majority of these they were copies from daily orders as the citation did not come in being until mid 1944 I believe.
Difficult to prove unless you have the original order or other supporting documents.

I have just done a search of this forum for other TDB Doc threads, and I have also had a look in the book Tank Killers, and all the prelim docs I can see have a brief description of the action, i.e. "...using a stovepipe knocked out a T34/Sherman etc..." - I realise that due to the very nature of these pieces of paperwork there is probably no set standard but is not having such a brief description seen often?

                            Tdb

In all cases the TDB is a nice one without any doubt about it's authenticy, congratulations Jeff

I am assuming this is supposed to mean 2 Kompanie / II Bataillon but if so wouldn't the 2nd Kompanie be in the 1st Bataillon?
