He wears a Bergmütze M1936, but I don't see a Bergführer badge...

Are you sure that its dated 3 October 1948 ? And not 3 October 1942 ?

Because if this picture was taken in 1942, then it's probably the Oberfeldwebel Gustav Krutemeier (1./Geb.Pi.Btl. 99)

Heres a closeup shot of his awards.To the right of the wound badge is what I believe is a Bergfuhrer badge. Its clearer on the original where you can see part of the edelweiss.
