I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front. My website: Gotrick.nl
The top one - first paragraph speaks of a photograph that brought back good memories, but the writer didn't have time to make a copy. Still, he's going to send copies to two people, one of them being the receiver's wife. The second paragraph says there's lots of snow, traffic problems, and lots of work going on.
Second photo, seems to be speaking of what an excellent example the person's head is for an artwork.

Reason: more info
Unless it was nighttime, or the weather was bad, and you were running out of gas - then it was a sweaty nightmare, like a monkey f*ing a skunk.

Some more details on the second one.
As some of the text is cutoff, here is a first attempt.
(But I am unsure how to translate words like "Prachtstück"
or "Ähnlichkeit" in the context of artwork ... )
... ein paar machen. Allgemein wird
Ihr Kopf schon als ein ganz besonderes
Prachtexemplar bewundert. Kunststück
da eine gute Zeichnung zu machen.
Als Zeichnung ist sie glaube ich recht
gut als Ähnlichkeit dürfte ich noch mehr
... ... ... ... zum Ausdruck gebracht ....
Possible translation :
In general, your head is admired as a "splendid specimen"/ a doozie (?!).
No feat to make a well done drawing from it.
As a drawing itself it is quite good, considering the similarity / the exactness,
I could have .. ... ... ?? ... ...
Photograph of Walter Sigel. The writing on the reverse seems to be from a relative perhaps informing someone of his death. Can somebody give me a translation of the writing? I don't have a good eye for the old Schrift...
And by the way, thank you to the folks providing the translations in this thread. You are real treasures! Danke!
