            Could it read in the 3rd line / 2nd column:

            "Nierener-
            krankungen"

            = kidney diseases

            and the word "Herz" (heart) was added later on after the hyphenation?

                He was born 1884, he joined the Army 1904 and retired just before the end of WWII with the rank of Oberst.
