Help in identifying a General ?

    Hi Guys,

Posting this for a friend. Does anybody know who the General to the right in this picture is?

Your assistance is much appreciated and thanks in advance.

The pictured general is not Rodenburg, but:

          Ludwig Wolff (1893-1968), Gen.d.Inf. (1.1.1944)

          Cheers,

          Hans

            Thanks for the input Hans.

My friend also thought that it was L. Wolff but Denis Picture sure looked like a match.
            So everybody agrees L. Wolff?

              Hi!

I was exactly in the same frame of mind as Philippe - I thought it was L. Wolff, but the similarity to the Rodenburg pic kept me in doubt.
Thanks Hans, for putting the matter straight.

              Regards,

              VJK

                Hello,

As you said Philippe, the Hoffman card and your friend's general photo were very close. Besides Wolff was severely wounded on the left part of his face (WWI ?) and his left eye is very particular. By looking precisely the photo, I can't achieve to find again his scar and "this" eye. However, I must admit that Hans can be right !
                I don't know what thinking !!
Any other opinion or perharps a better photo from both Rodenburg and Wolff would help.
I have only this one and it is not really interesting in that case (except that the OL are seemingly worn upside down).
                Regards
                Denis

I really like to help out and post a picture for comparison (to prove my point), but I'm not allowed to post any images.... One of the nice features of this forum...

                  Cheers,

                  Hans

                      Hello

Here is the photo of Ludwig Wolff posted on behlaf of Hans. After comparing both, I think Hans is right. This is Ludwig Wolff and not Carl Rodenburg.
                      Thanks Hans

Good work, everyone! If we know similar characters, we will less likely make a misidentification in the future... Offering close matches is much encouraged!
