    Adolf Hitler Photos

    Hi everyone,

A friend of mine showed me some Adolf Hitler pictures from his collection. they look very nice and are printed on thin paper. On the back they were numbered and printed with a description of what Hitler was doing/where he was. I think they may be the baseball pictures of the third reich so to say, something like Zigaretten Sammelbilder. Does anyone know for how much these pictures go?

    Greetings, Tim

These sound as though they're from either the Adolf Hitler or the Deutschland Erwacht cigarette albums. They're reasonably common. You'd be better off watching the estand here on WAF and buying the entire albums. They're listed frequently there for reasonable prices.

If you're determined to purchase the pictures individually, I suggest Goolgling Larry Noder and see what single images he has. He charges a few USD for them.

Thanks for your fast reply Ramon! He had probably 30 or so, bought them for 25 euros at a flea market. So that is not too bad right? Personally I also like more complete stuff like in an album. Do you have any idea how much they cost?

      Greetings, Tim

Complete albums of the titles referred to above should be in the 80 USD to 100 USD range or thereabouts. I urge you to be picky about condition and completeness of cards. It's always a plus to find an example of these titles that come with the original cardboard Schuber protective sleeve.

For the specialist there are subtle differences between print runs due to the changing political fortunes of some the notable quotables (such as Hess!.)

        Cheers,

        Ramon

Thanks I never knew that. Very interesting, the story behind the different runs. However, when I googled a Deutschland Erwache album, I came across an example with small colour printed cards. The photos I mentioned are larger and black and white...

There were a lot of different cigarette card albums from the 20s through the late 50s, and they were also popular in England. The DE album has some small color cards, some large b/w cards, and some in between sizes, while the AH is mainly larger b/w.

                Erich,
Could this be one of the Adolph cards you refer to? It is 4 3/4" x 6 1/2". I have never seen these so have no info. on it. There is also a stamp on the back. Thanks!

                      Darrick,

The photo you've shown is NOT from one the cigarette albums.

Thanks Ramon. I have no idea what it is from. It is rather large. I've seen the cigarette cards before. I just haven't seen anything this big. I figured it was for something similar like a cigarette album. I do know that AH looks mighty mad.
                        Regards,Darrick
