Framed NCO Portrait

Hello gentlemen. I recently picked up this interesting framed portrait of what looks like an infantry nco in dress uniform. The frame and portrait are a pretty good size with the actual photo measuring 7 x 9.5 in and the frame being 13.5 x 17 in. The photo is under glass and there is also what appears to be a photographers signature in the lower right corner.

So what can everyone tell me about this portrait? I collect mostly Third Reich medals so I don't know much about these things. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Nice portrait, he is indeed a band member. I'm not sure of the ribbon bar though i too do not know much about them, i'll leave that to the guy's who know.
I've attached a picture of a life magazine i have titled "German Bugler".

Cool! Thank you for the help everyone. I paid $30 for this portrait (found it languishing in an antiques store). How do you think I did? I really enjoy the look of it though so I doubt I will sell it.

Good find for $30. As stated, this feldwebel is indeed a bandmember, the shoulder things are called swallows-nests. It looks like his farbe is white, infantry, and he is a holder of the heer long service award and the westwall medal which would date it after august of '39 (obviously, since the signature is dated 1940)
