The signature on medaille zur erinnerung an den 13 märtz 1938 is Dr Otto Meissner.
he was the head of the office of the president in germany during the entire period of the weimar republic under Friedrich Ebert and paul von Hindenburg and, finaly during the third reich under Adolf Hitler. the signature may be printed and not hand signed, i do not know.

        Best regards

          Hi,
just refreshing this enquiry - as I have found nothing new out about the man since my initial post.

Any idea what happened to him?

          cheers,
          Rick

When there is Meissner signature alone with no other countersigned, it is 99% a fascimile

The signature on the first citation is of future Generaloberst and Knights Cross holder Hans von Salmuth.

                    Hello !

Very interesting addition by Harmel , but also very compact, so it took me a while, to understand :
                    - The dates refer to the career of Major/Oberstlt. Kaehler ?!

                    - the second point was perhaps already included as well :
Abteilungschef of the "Abteilung Wehrmacht-Nachrichtenverbindungen" was Oberst Juppe :
                    http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/.../JuppeHans.htm
=> So the signature on the 1.Oct. 1938 doc should be of Oberst Juppe ?!

                    - Final remark :
                    https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiffr..._der_Wehrmacht
If the Wiki links is correct, it could be, that Oberstlt. Kaehler, towards the end of war worked in the :
Chiffrierabteilung OKW, Hauptgruppe B, Gruppe VI : Nachrichtenerfassung

                    Best regards,

                    Archi

                        Hello Harmel !

Thanks for the additional info !
So, from his position and rank Oberst Juppe would fit. Perhaps someone has a signature, for reference ?!

It would be great, if you could check the "Wikipedia info". I am always unsure, whether to mention these sources,
but in this case, the rank would fit and also the position would make sense.

                        Best regards,

                        Archi
